Pianist – School Assemblies

I am excited to now offer school presentations that inspire young children to experience the piano first-hand! This assembly program not only includes professional playing heard on the piano, but I help to share basic history and mechanics of a piano. I also weave in student interaction so students can experience and see how the piano works up close!

Christie’s Music Background

Christie has been playing the piano for almost 20 years, and both teaches and performs. She has had the opportunity to perform during multiple occasions, including a banquet in honor of Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor. Her performances include cocktail hours, nonprofit fundraisers and corporate events. Christie was also a 2012 titleholder within the Miss America Organization, where she was awarded as a top-ten finalist at the Miss Arizona pageant, a preliminary competition for Miss America.

Christie has received ABODA Superior with Distinction awards for piano and flute along with the Miss Tucson Desert Rose 2011 talent award. Christie equally has musical experience in the flute, piccolo, vocals, marching snare, violin and as a conductor and composer. She was given leadership roles as a Back Field Conductor, Side (Assistant) Drum Major and Center (Lead) Drum Major for a Division I & II High School Marching Band (band program earning multiple “Superior with Distinction” awards and “Drum Major Caption” award). Christie continues to learn and develop her passion for music as both a teacher and performer, and hopes to continue her love for music years to come!
